New 2024 project: "TRAVEL JOURNAL OF A LITTLE ARTIST IN JAPAN"

First Article of the New Year!

It's been a while since my last stream of thoughts and also since my last series of paintings. However, I never stopped either writing or painting. In these months, I embarked on my new artistic journey and started bringing to life the related projects that I cherish immensely.

What is it all about?

Months ago, I set out on a solo travel through Japan. In reality, my real "adventure" began almost a year and a half earlier: a long inner journey, as important as it was difficult. Despite being challenging and tough, the path has been a friend to me. Japan has been a courageous gift I gave to myself.

There, my soul found its sanctuary: I felt in the right place for the first and only time, discovering a deep sense of connection and belonging.

There, alone, I never felt out of place. Despite losing my way countless times, I never felt truly lost.

Rather than simply calling it a "trip", I much prefer to say that I lived in Japan for three long months: it was the most intense period of my life, where I sinceraly began living for myself. Describing all this with just the word "travel" reduces it to a miserable definition. In this regard, this is an aspect that often held me back: how can I attempt to share or convey what I find inexpressible? Despite hesitating, I still followed the urgent need to express what Japan generously gave me through thoughts, paintings, and other artistic works born from my nostalgic memories, passing first through my heart and reaching my eager creative hands that are ready to shape them.

This is the new 2024 project : an artistic journey around Japan through the images I captured while wandering with a backpack across the Land of the Rising Sun - images that I will try to bring to life with my artworks.

This Travel Journal goes beyond the mere recording and description of travel stops and places: it explores emotions, inspirations, the essence of Japan reflected in the world of art. Each brushstroke will be the energy of a memory, each color a sensation: they will tell the story of how those lands deeply touched my soul and shaped my new artistic vision.

Every day, I strongly feel the call of those lands, like a constant echo, to the point where my heart aches. Hoping to reunite with these beloved places soon, the project becomes the perfect way to continue exploring Japan and sweeten the wait for a future return.
